Second workshop at IIP Centre Noida

Second workshop at IIP Centre Noida

By : Upma Gupta

Garbage to garden presented their second successful workshop at IIP Centre Noida this Sunday in awareness of the grave realities of garbage and discussing the wayouts to deal with the issue. It was an overwhelming experience to see so many intrigued minds connecting their chords to tune along and explore more and more about the realities of garbage and how we could successfully join hands and finally curb the dark sides that it brings forth in not so distant future. The idea was to demonstrate how easily we can tackle the problem of garbage by converting the kitchen waste into organic manure without any pesticides to use the compost in community based farming to grow our own vegetables ourselves. It was an exhilarating experience to see Mr. Rajesh Goyal, our honourable founder to take the workshop with sheer brilliance. His session was an eye opening one with facts and figures and did alarm everyone presented in the workshop. He took us to a journey and taught us how easily we can make compost out of kitchen leftovers to have homegrown vegetables. What he insisted upon most is trying just a little hard and spending 5 minutes of our time to take out the organic kitchen waste and doing the process of composting at home so that we can curb the problem of garbage from it’s very source. It would also refrain it from going into landfills and piling up to create hazardous chemicals and easily burnt green house gases. This affects in so many levels and is extremely harmful for the health of every citizen residing in the perimeters of Noida. And not to mention the grave affect it has on our environment, our soil, our eco-system as a whole.

There were a lot of questions asked regarding the procedure of making compost and also the implications the process might have on our environment. There were intimidating discussions about the issue and each and every attendee took the discussions very seriously. There were at least 20 attendees and at the end of the seminar they all took a pledge to do their best in curbing the issue of garbage. The event concluded with a positive note with facilitating every attendee a certification of appreciation by IIP Foundation. It was an open to all workshop and did not charge a paisa. The workshop was solely dedicated to aware the citizens about the grave realities and the impact that might have on our very lives. There were a number of prominent personalities present in the workshop, including Dr.Umesh Chandra Gaur and Mr.Shailesh Goyal to help and support the cause.

There are inspirations all along. When asked upon about the inspiration of Mr. Rajesh Goyal, he humbly named our honourable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi and his remarkable Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan. To him this was his duty to his countrymen and a contribution to the betterment of our country and its people.

We hope to get more hands joining us, more voices speaking up for the sake of the greater good of Noida. We expect your active support and your eager contribution to curb the waste from its source.
